How to request the blue checkmark (Official Business Account) for your business WhatsApp
In Meta's WhatsApp Manager, select the number, turn on two-step verification, make sure the business is verified and the display name approved, then click Submit Request, attaching up to five news links about your brand. Meta evaluates notability; if denied, you can apply again after 30 days.

Before you start
- The request is made in Meta, not in Elooo CRM. You need access to your company's Meta business portfolio.
- Required before applying: Business Verification completed with Meta, display name approved, and two-step verification turned on for the number.
- The blue checkmark is reserved for WhatsApp Business Platform accounts (like the ones connected to Elooo CRM). Test accounts, employee accounts and WhatsApp Business app accounts aren't eligible.
- Meta decides based on notability: the brand must be widely recognized and searched for, with coverage in news outlets with a meaningful audience. Paid placements, sponsored content and business directories don't count.
- The checkmark is tied to the number + display name pair. If you change the name later, it's reassessed.
Where to find it
Meta Business Manager › WhatsApp Manager › Overview › (pick the number) › Submit Request
Step by step
Prepare the account
- Make sure the business is verified with Meta (see "How to verify your business with Meta for WhatsApp").
- Make sure the number's display name is approved (see "How to change your WhatsApp display name").
- Turn on two-step verification for the number, following Meta's instructions in WhatsApp Manager.
Submit the request
- Log in to Meta Business Manager, open WhatsApp Manager and, in the Overview, select the number you want the checkmark for.
- Click Submit Request and fill in the form.
- Attach up to five links to news about your brand in well-known publications (newspapers, magazines, reference portals, encyclopedias).
- State the countries you operate in, the parent brand you belong to (if any) and your primary language.
- Send the request. Meta notifies you when there's a decision.
If the request is denied
- The decision can't be appealed at this time.
- Keep building your public presence (news, coverage in relevant outlets).
- After 30 days, submit a new request.
- Meanwhile, keep your profile complete: photo, email, website and description help customers trust you, checkmark or not.
Tips
- If you have a recognized parent brand and sub-brand numbers, use names like "Sub-brand by Parent Brand": one number's checkmark doesn't automatically extend to the others.
- You don't need the checkmark for your business name to show to customers: Business Verification with Meta plus an approved name is enough.
- Never include "Official" or "Verified" in the display name; that gets the name declined.
Common problems
- The Submit Request button doesn't appear → Requirements are missing: two-step verification off, business not verified, or display name not yet approved. Complete all three and try again.
- The request was denied → Meta judged the brand not notable enough yet. Gather coverage in relevant outlets and apply again after 30 days.
- Customers see the number instead of the name → That's solved by Business Verification and an approved name, not by the checkmark. See "How to verify your business with Meta for WhatsApp".
- I changed the name and lost the checkmark → The checkmark was tied to the previous name. Meta has to reassess the new name.
Frequently asked questions
Is a verified business the same as an Official Business Account?
No. Verification confirms the business is authentic and makes the name show. The Official Business Account (blue checkmark) is a level above, granted only to recognized brands.
Does the checkmark improve message delivery?
No. It helps customers recognize the brand; template, quality and limit rules are the same.
