How to set up the client portal (domain, branding and language)
Under Memberships › Client Portal › Settings, use Domain Setup to connect your domain (create the DNS record shown and click Update Domain), Branding for the name, colors, logo, favicon and support email, and Language Settings for the default language. Save and test the address in an incognito window.

Before you start
- You need access to Memberships in your account.
- For your own domain (e.g. clients.yourcompany.com), you need access to your domain registrar's DNS panel.
- Have your logo (square, up to 200×200 px), favicon (square, up to 16×16 px) and portal image (square, up to 720×720 px) ready in SVG, PNG or JPG, plus your two brand colors.
Where to find it
Memberships › Client Portal › Settings
Step by step
Connect your domain
- Open Memberships › Client Portal and click Settings.
- Under Domain Setup, choose Custom domain and enter the domain or subdomain you want to use.
- In your domain registrar's panel, open the DNS settings and create the record shown on screen (an A record with the IP address given, or a CNAME record with the target given).
- Wait for DNS propagation (it can take up to 48 hours).
- Return to the portal settings and click Update Domain.
- Anyone opening the old address sees a notice with the new link and is redirected automatically after 30 seconds.
Customize the branding
- Under Settings, open Branding.
- Fill in the portal name and description (customers see both).
- Pick brand color one (buttons, headings, highlights) and brand color two (secondary color).
- Upload the favicon, the portal image and the logo.
- Enter the support email customers can contact and the footer copyright text (e.g. "© 2026 Your Company").
- Click Save Settings.
Set the default language
- Under Settings, open Language Settings.
- Choose the language and click Save.
- Each customer can change their own language inside the portal under Manage Your Account › Language Settings.
Share the portal address
- Under Memberships › Client Portal › Dashboard, copy the portal URL (it already reflects the domain you connected).
- Send it by email, SMS or WhatsApp, or add it to your website and welcome email.
Tips
- After saving, open the portal URL in an incognito window to see exactly what customers see.
- You can turn the Sign in with Google button on the login page on or off under Settings › App Permissions; when it's off, customers sign in with email and password or an emailed code.
- Each portal app (courses, communities, affiliates) has its own branding settings; what you set here is the branding of the portal itself.
Common problems
- I connected the domain but it doesn't open → DNS hasn't propagated yet or the record has the wrong value. Check it at the registrar and allow up to 48 hours; if it persists, ask the registrar for help.
- I changed the branding but the portal looks the same → That's browser cache. Open it in an incognito window or clear the cache.
- The favicon won't upload → It must be square (1:1), in SVG, PNG or JPG, at most 16×16 px.
- A customer sees the portal in another language → They changed the language on their own account under Manage Your Account › Language Settings. The default language only applies to those who haven't picked another.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need my own domain?
No. The portal works with the default address. A custom domain just puts your brand in the URL.
Do the courses I already had keep working after setting up the portal?
Yes. Customers who already had course access log in to the portal with the same email and password.
