How to download and share certificates and badges

Go to Memberships › Certificates, click the three dots on the certificate or badge › Preview and download it as PDF, PNG or JPG using the arrow next to the download button. To send it by email, open the certificate and click Send. Social media sharing only works for credentials already issued.

Updated on

Before you start

  • You need access to Memberships and the certificates area.
  • To share on social media, the certificate or badge must be issued to a person (a template with no recipient can't be shared).
Where to find it

Memberships › Certificates › (three dots) › Preview

Step by step

Understand the credentials dashboard

  1. Open Memberships › Certificates.
  2. The dashboard has three areas: Issued Certificates (with recipient name and date), Issued Badges and Templates (designs not yet assigned to anyone). From the templates area you can also create new certificates and badges.

Download as PDF, PNG or JPG

  1. Find the certificate or badge and click its three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Preview.
  3. Click Download PDF for the default format, or the arrow next to the button to pick PNG or JPG.
  4. Save the file to your computer.

Which format to use:

  • PDF: printing, framing and design fidelity.
  • PNG: high-quality image with transparency, ideal for websites and badges on profiles.
  • JPG: smaller file, good for email attachments and social media posts.

Send by email

  1. Click the certificate or badge name (or Edit from the three-dot menu) to open the editor.
  2. In the top-right corner, click Send.
  3. Choose email, fill in the recipient and confirm.

  1. Open the preview of a certificate or badge that has already been issued.
2. Use the social media sharing options on the preview page itself.

Tips

  • Recipients see the same preview, with all three download formats, when they open the link in their email or sign in to the Client Portal.
  • You can preview and download a template that hasn't been issued yet to approve the design before using it.

Common problems

• The social media sharing options are missing → You're looking at a template, not an issued certificate. Issue it to a contact first and share from that version.
  • Only the PDF option shows → Click the arrow next to the Download PDF button to open the list with PNG and JPG.
  • The student says they can't download it → Ask them to open the certificate link from their email or sign in to the Client Portal; the preview has the download buttons.
  • The image comes out with a white background → Download as PNG, which keeps transparency; JPG doesn't.

Frequently asked questions

Which format is best for an email attachment?

JPG, since it's the smallest. If you need transparency or higher quality, use PNG.

Can I download a badge the same way?

Yes. Certificates and badges use the same three-dot menu and the same preview.
