How to view a workflow's previous versions and roll back
Inside the workflow, open Version History. Each saved version shows who edited it, when, and whether it was a draft or published. Click Restore next to a version to reopen it as a new draft; the published workflow only changes when you publish again. Use Save Version before big changes.

Before you start
- If you can't find Version History in the builder, enable it under Settings › Labs.
- To restore, the workflow must be in draft and have no contacts going through it at that moment.
Where to find it
Automation › Workflows › (open the workflow) › Version History
Step by step
Save a version before editing
- Open the workflow.
- Click Save Version. The version is added to the history with the next number (v12, v13…), the time and your name.
- Make your changes with peace of mind: the builder's auto-save doesn't create new versions; only the Save button, Save Version, confirming unsaved changes and a status change (draft ↔ published) do.
View and restore a previous version
- Open the workflow and click Version History.
- In the sidebar, see the list in time order: version number, date and time, who edited and the status (draft or published). You can filter by editor.
- Find the version you want to go back to.
- Click Restore. The version opens as a new draft; the published workflow stays as it is until you publish this draft.
- Review the canvas and click Publish when you're sure.
- Alternatively, choose Create new workflow from version to make an independent copy without touching the original.
Tips
- The history keeps the last 10 versions or 30 days, whichever comes first. For important milestones, save a version and note what changed (e.g. "new welcome sequence").
- After restoring, undo/redo starts fresh from that draft.
- Changes apply to contacts already in the workflow when they reach the edited steps. A contact sitting in a Wait action finishes the wait with the old duration and only then continues through the new actions.
Common problems
- The Restore button doesn't work → The workflow is published or has contacts going through it. Switch it to draft and wait until no contacts are in progress.
- I can't see yesterday's version → Only manual saves, Save Version and status changes create versions; auto-save doesn't. Also check whether the 10-version or 30-day limit has passed.
- I restored but the published workflow didn't change → That's expected: restoring creates a draft. Click Publish to put it live.
- I can't find Version History → Enable it under Settings › Labs.
