What to do when a social media post fails
Open the post marked Failed in the Social Planner and read the error message. Most of the time the account connection expired or lost permissions: reconnect the account in the planner settings with a user who can publish. Other cases (duplicate content, invalid link, daily limit) are fixed by adjusting the post.

Before you start
- You need access to Marketing › Social Planner and, to reconnect accounts, the login details for the networks (or someone who has them).
- Whoever reconnects the account must have permission to publish on that page, group or profile.
Where to find it
Marketing › Social Planner › Content (or Calendar) › (post with status Failed) › error message
Step by step
Read the error and act
- In the left menu, open Marketing and click Social Planner.
- Find the post with status Failed (in the calendar or under Content) and open it to read the error message.
- Fix it according to the message (see the lists below) and reschedule or publish again.
Connection errors (the most common)
- The account token expired / was revoked / is invalid: open the planner settings (gear icon), remove or reconnect the account and authorize the connection again.
- The connected account doesn't have permission to post: reconnect the network with a user who is an admin or editor of the page, group or profile.
- The app is missing from the Facebook page or group (also shown as "user checkpoint", "password mismatch" or "unconfirmed user"): log in to Facebook with the account you connected, confirm the page or group has the Elooo CRM connection authorized, and reconnect the account in the planner.
- Temporary error from the network: hard-refresh your browser (clears the cache) and try again in a few minutes.
Content errors
- Duplicate content (Facebook and LinkedIn): posting the same text twice within 12 hours isn't allowed. Change the text or wait.
- Invalid link (Facebook): fix the URL in the post.
- Content violates community standards (Facebook and Instagram): change the text or media.
- Character limit exceeded (Google Business Profile) or copy too long / required field missing (LinkedIn): shorten the text and fill in the required fields.
- More than 30 tags (Instagram): reduce hashtags across the caption and first comment.
- Carousel out of range (Instagram): a carousel must have between 2 and 10 images or videos.
Media and account errors
- File upload timeout (Instagram): use a smaller file.
- Media upload failed (Google Business Profile): re-upload the image in another format or size.
- Daily publishing limit reached (Instagram): Instagram only allows a certain number of posts per day through third-party tools. Reschedule for the next day.
- Instagram account restricted: the account must be a Business account. Convert it in Instagram and reconnect.
- Temporary block (Facebook): Facebook enforces a waiting period before the account can post again. There is no way around it; reschedule.
- Google Business Profile incomplete / "missing value": complete the profile details in Google and reconnect the account.
- Local posts disabled on Google Business Profile: happens with profiles that belong to a chain; Google doesn't allow posting through external tools in that case.
Tips
- When an account loses its connection, the planner shows a warning banner: reconnect it before the next scheduled post goes out.
- After reconnecting an account, open the failed posts and reschedule them; they are not resent automatically.
- When connecting Facebook or Instagram, grant access to all the pages you manage to avoid permission errors later.
Common problems
- I reconnected the account and the post still shows as failed → Failed posts aren't resent on their own. Open it, check the content and schedule it again.
- Only some networks failed on the same post → Each network has its own rules. Read the error from the network that failed and adjust just that version (customizing the text per network if needed).
- The error says "undefined" or "should resolve itself shortly" → It's a momentary glitch on the network. Wait a few minutes and try again.
- It always fails on the same Facebook group → The group doesn't have the Elooo CRM connection authorized, or the page chosen in the planner settings isn't an admin of the group. Fix it in Facebook and reconnect.
