How to create and sell gift cards

Before you start

  • You need access to Payments in your account.
  • You need a payment provider connected to receive the money from sales.
  • Optionally, prepare a high-resolution image (PNG or JPG) with your branding and the card's terms and conditions.
  • Decide on the denominations (e.g. 25, 50, 100), expiry and available quantity.
Where to find it

Payments › Gift Cards › Create Gift Card

Step by step

Create the gift card

  1. In the left menu, open Payments and click Gift Cards in the top bar.
  2. Click Create Gift Card. (The first time, that's the only option; Sell, Send and orders appear once the first card exists.)
  3. Under Basic Information, enter the name and description, the terms and conditions, the expiry date (applies to every card of this product) and, if you have one, a URL with redemption instructions.
  4. Under Customize, pick the look: a gradient in your brand colors or upload your own artwork.
  5. Under Values, Tax & Category, add one or more denominations (e.g. 25, 50, 100), set the quantity available, enable automatic taxes if needed and assign a category.
  6. Review the summary and preview, then click Create Gift Card.
  1. In the gift card list, click Sell on the card.
  2. Click the copy icon next to the checkout link (live mode) and share it by email, text, social media or as a button on your website.
  3. To put the checkout inside your own page, copy the embed code and paste it into your site.
  4. For in-person or print sales, click QR Code on the card: you can download the image or share the QR link.
  5. To test without charging, use the Test Mode Checkout Link (top right of the sell screen).

Sell in the checkouts you already use

  1. Add the gift card as a product to a funnel order form, a form, your store, a payment link, an invoice or a booking page.
  2. The customer buys it like any other product and the card is delivered according to the delivery option chosen.

Tips

  • Quantity applies per denomination: quantity 100 with two denominations means 200 cards in total.
  • At checkout the buyer picks Myself or Someone Else, can add a message and choose Deliver Now or Schedule for a date; the recipient gets the card by email.
  • You can edit the card (denominations, quantity, terms, expiry) anytime; changes apply to cards issued from then on.
  • Every card sold or sent shows under Gift Card Orders, with code, amount, balance and status.

Common problems

  • I only see Create and nothing else → That's normal before the first card. Once you create one, Sell, Send, QR and orders appear.
  • A card bought in test mode doesn't work at live checkout → Test-mode cards only redeem on test checkouts, and vice versa.
  • I deactivated the card but it's still sold on a form → Deactivating stops the dedicated link and the store; on other checkouts where you added it as a product, remove it manually.
  • Stock ran out faster than expected → Quantity is per denomination, not total. Edit the card and adjust.
