How to create a popup on a page (on entry, on exit or on click)

In the page builder, click Popup Settings, create a popup and edit it like a section. Under Show Popup On, choose Delay (seconds after the page opens), Exit Intent, or None (opens only when someone clicks a button, image or text set to Open Popup).

Updated on

Before you start

  • The page must be in a funnel or website built in Elooo CRM. Popups don't work on pages hosted elsewhere.
  • If the popup will collect details (email, phone), create the form first in Sites › Forms.
  • Decide on the right moment: right after landing (delay), when the visitor is about to leave (exit intent), or only on click.
Where to find it

Sites › Funnels or Websites › (open the page) › Edit › Popup Settings

Step by step

Create the popup

  1. Open Sites, choose Funnels or Websites, open the funnel or website and click Edit on the step or page.
  2. In the builder's top bar, click Popup Settings.
  3. In the side panel, click + Create New Popup and give it a descriptive name (e.g. "Welcome offer").
  4. Click the pencil icon next to the popup to edit it. It works like a regular section: add a row, then the elements you want (text, form, button, image, video, countdown).
  5. In the popup settings, pick the position (left, center or right), background color, overlay, spacing and max width for desktop, tablet and mobile.

Set when it appears

  1. Select the popup in the side panel and open the Settings tab.
  2. Under Show Popup On, choose:
    • Delay: appears on its own after the number of seconds you set.
    • Exit Intent: appears when the cursor moves out of the page, as if the visitor were about to close the tab.
    • None: opens only when someone clicks a button, image or text linked to it.
  3. If you chose Delay, enter the seconds to wait.
  4. Save and publish the page.

Open the popup from a button, image or text

  1. Select the button, image or text on the page.
  2. Under Link To, choose Open Popup.
  3. Pick the popup from the list and save.

Test it

  1. Click Preview.
  2. Wait the set seconds, move the cursor toward the browser bar, or click the button, depending on the trigger.
  3. Confirm the popup opens and the close (X) button works.

Tips

  • You can have several popups on the same page, each with its own content and trigger: a delayed welcome offer, an exit-intent survey and a bonus that opens on click.
  • The order of popups in the side panel sets priority: if two share the same trigger, the one higher in the list shows first. Drag the two-line icon to reorder.
  • Exit intent relies on mouse movement, so it only works on desktop. For mobile, use Delay.
  • If a visitor opens the popup manually before the delay ends, it won't appear again on that page view.
  • To see how many people converted on the popup, check the page's Statistics tab or connect the form to your pipeline.

Common problems

  • The exit popup doesn't show on mobile → That's expected: touchscreens have no cursor. Create a second popup with Delay for mobile visitors.
  • Only one of my popups appears → They share the same trigger. Change one trigger or reorder them in the panel to decide which shows first.
  • The button doesn't open the popup → Check that Link To is set to Open Popup and that the right popup is selected. Save and publish the page again.
  • The popup shows but collects nothing → The form element is missing inside the popup. Add a row, then the Form element, and pick the form from the list.
  • The popup never appears, even with a delay → The page wasn't published after the change. Click Publish and test in an incognito window.

Frequently asked questions

Can visitors close the popup?

Yes, with the close (X) button or by clicking outside the popup, depending on the settings you choose.

Can I use different forms in different popups?

Yes. Each popup has its own content, so you can pick a different form in each one.
