How to add a widget to your dashboard

In Dashboard, open the dashboard, click the pencil and then Add Widget. Pick the chart type and data category, set the title and filters, click Save and, at the end, Save Changes.

Updated on

Before you start

  • You need edit access to the dashboard. If it isn't yours, ask the owner to give you edit access.
  • For ad or Google Analytics widgets, connect the matching account first in Settings › Integrations.
Where to find it

Dashboard › pencil icon › Add Widget

Step by step

Add the widget

  1. In the left menu, click Dashboard and open the dashboard where you want the widget.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the top-right corner to enter edit mode.
  3. Click Add Widget. A panel opens on the right with the list of widgets.
  4. Pick a chart type: numeric, donut, line, bar, horizontal bar or table.
  5. Pick a data category (for example contacts, opportunities, appointments, payments) or use the search bar to find the widget.
  6. On the Configure tab, give the widget a title and, if you like, a short description. Check the metrics, grouping and date range.
  7. To filter the data, open the Conditions tab:
    • Click Add Filter and choose the field, operator and value (for example, Tag is "customer").
    • Use +AND to add more filters that must all be true at the same time.
    • Click Add Filter again to start another group; groups work as "or".
  8. Check the preview and click Save.
  9. Drag the widget into place and pull its corner to make it bigger or smaller.
  10. Click Save Changes at the top of the dashboard.

Change or remove a widget

  1. Enter edit mode with the pencil icon.
  2. Hover over the widget and open its options menu.
  3. Choose edit to change the chart, title or filters, duplicate to make a copy, or remove to take it off the dashboard.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Tips

  • Duplicate a widget and change only the filter to compare two sources or two teams side by side.
  • A widget can use a different date range from the rest of the dashboard if you turn on the date range override in its settings.
  • Table charts work well for lists (for example, opportunities per user).

Common problems

  • I don't see the Add Widget button → You're not in edit mode yet. Click the pencil icon in the dashboard's top-right corner.
  • The widget's Save button doesn't work → One of your filters matches no data. Adjust or remove that filter under Conditions and try again.
  • The widget shows no data → Widen the date range at the top of the dashboard and review the filters. For ad or Google Analytics widgets, check the account is connected in Settings › Integrations.
  • I can't group by session source → When grouping by attribution data, you can only have one filter group and it must include the attribution type (first or latest touch). Delete the extra groups.

Frequently asked questions

Do widgets show money values to everyone?

No. Users without permission to see opportunity values only see counts.

Can I see the opportunities behind a number?

In several widgets, such as the lead source report, you can click a number to open the list of opportunities that make it up.
