In the left menu, open the object (e.g. Properties), click Add, fill in the primary field and save. To edit, open the record, click Edit, change the fields and save. To delete, open the record, click the three dots › Delete Record and confirm (there's no recovery).
Updated on
Before you start
- The object already exists and has its fields set up.
- Have the primary field value handy (the name or reference that identifies the record).
- Before deleting, make sure the record holds nothing you still need: deleting a record is permanent.
Where to find it
Left menu › (object name, e.g. Properties) › Add
Step by step
Create a record
- In the left menu, click the object (e.g. Properties).
- In the top right, click Add (the button shows the object's name, e.g. Add Property).
- Fill in the primary field (e.g. "12 Flower Street"). Only the primary field is filled at creation.
- Click Save, or Save and Add Another to keep creating records without leaving the form.
- Open the record you just created to fill in the remaining fields (see below).
Edit a record
- In the object's list, click the record name to open it.
- Click Edit.
- Change whatever fields you need: text, numbers, dropdowns, dates.
- Click Save. To discard your changes, click Cancel.
Delete a record
- Open the record.
- In the top right, click the three-dot menu.
- Choose Delete Record.
- Confirm in the dialog. The record is permanently deleted.
Tips
- On the record, the Related Objects section shows linked contacts, companies and opportunities; that's where you link the owner to the pet or the buyer to the property.
- You can also add notes on the record, with search and filters, just like on contacts.
- To create many records at once, import a CSV file instead of creating them one by one.
- If you're deleting several records, use multi-select in the list: bulk-deleted records can be restored from Contacts › Bulk Actions for 60 days.
Common problems
- I can only fill in one field when creating → That's expected: only the primary field is filled at creation. Save, open the record and click Edit to fill in the rest.
- "A record with the same value already exists" → A unique field (e.g. license plate) already has that value on another record. Look up the existing record before creating another.
- I deleted a record and need it back → A record deleted individually can't be recovered. Only bulk deletions (selected from the list) appear in Bulk Actions with a restore option for 60 days.
- I can't find the object in the left menu → Check that the object was created under Settings › Objects and refresh the page.
