How to install the chat widget on your website and get notified of messages

In Sites › Chat Widget, open the widget and click Get Code. Paste the code into your website, or pick the widget in the settings of an Elooo CRM funnel or website. To get notified, create a workflow with the Customer Replied trigger filtered to the Chat Widget channel.

Updated on

Before you start

  • The chat widget must already be created and saved in Sites › Chat Widget.
  • For external websites, you need admin access to the site (for example Wix or WordPress).
  • To reply by SMS, your account needs an active phone number in Settings › Phone Numbers.
Where to find it

Sites › Chat Widget › Get Code

Step by step

On a funnel or website built in Elooo CRM

  1. Open Sites › Funnels (or Websites) and go into the funnel or website.
  2. Open the funnel or website settings.
  3. In the chat widget field, pick the widget you created.
  4. Save. The chat now appears on your pages.

On an external website

  1. Open Sites › Chat Widget and click Get Code on the widget.
  2. Copy the code.
  3. Paste it into your site's footer or body so it shows on every page. If you use Google Tag Manager, you can add it there.
  4. Publish your site changes and open the site to check that the chat appears.

On Wix

  1. In your Wix site dashboard, open Settings and, under Advanced, choose Custom Code.
  2. Click Add Custom Code and paste the code.
  3. Name the code, choose All pages and Load code once, and under Place Code in choose Head.
  4. Click Apply. The widget appears on every page.
  5. Alternatively, in the Wix Editor, add an Embed HTML element, click Code, paste the code and click Update. The chat then shows only in that part of the page.

Get notified of new messages

  1. Open Automation › Workflows and create a workflow.
  2. Add the Customer Replied trigger with the filter Reply Channel = Chat Widget.
  3. Add an internal notification action: Email, In-app notification (web or mobile app) or SMS to the users who should be alerted.
  4. To include what the visitor wrote, use the {{message.body}} value in the notification.
  5. Save and publish.

Tips

  • Each reply channel needs its own trigger: if you also want alerts for another channel, create another trigger or workflow.
  • To see only website chat conversations in Conversations, filter by Last Message Channel › Live Chat.

Common problems

  • The chat doesn't show on my site → Check that you pasted the complete code, published your site changes and saved the widget. Reload the page without cache.
  • The chat takes a while to appear → The widget may have Load on user interaction turned on: it loads after a scroll or click, or after a few seconds.
  • I don't get alerts when someone writes → Make sure the workflow is published and the Reply Channel filter is set to Chat Widget.
  • I reply by SMS and the visitor doesn't get it → Your account needs an active SMS-capable phone number in Settings › Phone Numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same widget on several pages?
