How to create a recurring social media post (daily, weekly, monthly or yearly)

Go to Marketing › Social Planner › New Post › Create New Post, write the post, open the arrow next to Post and choose Schedule Recurring Posts. Set the frequency (day, week, month or year), the days, the date range and the time. The parent post lives under Content › Recurring.

Updated on

Before you start

  • Have at least one network connected to the Social Planner (if you haven't yet, you can still set up the recurrence; the system asks you to connect before saving).
  • Prepare the text and the images or video for the post.
  • Think about a frequency that makes sense: a daily quote, a weekly tip, a monthly product showcase, a yearly anniversary.
Where to find it

Marketing › Social Planner › New Post › Create New Post › (arrow next to Post) › Schedule Recurring Posts

Step by step

Create the recurrence

  1. In the left menu, open Marketing and click Social Planner.
  2. Click New Post, then Create New Post.
  3. Choose the accounts you want to publish to.
  4. Write the text (you can use the AI assistant) and add images or video from your library.
  5. Click the arrow next to the Post button and choose Schedule Recurring Posts.
  6. Pick the frequency:
    • Day: the time it repeats every day.
    • Week: the days of the week, the date range and the time.
    • Month: the day of the month and the time.
    • Year: the date and time, once a year.
  7. Confirm. The parent post is saved under Content › Recurring tab, and each repeat appears in the calendar as a scheduled post.

Edit or delete

  1. To change the text, image, time or date range of all repeats, open Content › Recurring, find the parent post and click Edit.
  2. To change only one date, open that post in the Calendar and edit it: the parent post and the other repeats stay the same.
  3. To delete all repeats, delete the parent post under Content › Recurring.
  4. To delete only one repeat, delete it from the Calendar or the List view.

Tips

  • Review recurring posts from time to time: offers, prices and messaging change, and an outdated post keeps going out without anyone noticing.
  • During sensitive moments (a crisis, serious news), pause or review your scheduled recurrences.
  • X (formerly Twitter) may flag repeated content as spam. On that network, vary the text or use recurrence sparingly.
  • The time is your account's time. If your audience is in another time zone, adjust accordingly.

Common problems

  • I edited one repeat and the others didn't change → That's expected: editing a repeat in the calendar changes only that one. To change them all, edit the parent post under Content › Recurring.
  • I deleted under Content and every date disappeared → Deleting the parent post removes the whole series. To remove a single date, delete it from the calendar.
  • I can't save the recurrence → No network is connected. Connect at least one account to the Social Planner and save again.
  • One of the repeats failed → The account lost its connection or the network rejected the content (for example, as duplicate). Reconnect the account and, if needed, change the text for that date.
