What to do when your website or funnel won't load or SSL is pending

In Settings › Domains, check the domain is verified and assigned to the funnel or website with a default page, that the page is published, and that DNS records are correct (no Cloudflare proxy, no A and CNAME on the same name). SSL is then created automatically.

Updated on

Before you start

  • Have access to the dashboard of the provider where your domain is managed (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap…) so you can review DNS records.
  • Have access to Settings › Domains and Sites in your account.
  • Remember: after changing DNS records, it can take up to 24 hours to propagate.
Where to find it

Settings › Domains › (domain) › Manage

Step by step

1. Make sure the page is published

  1. Open the funnel or website in Sites and the page in the builder.
  2. Click Publish (saving isn't enough).
  3. Test the address in a private browser window so you don't see an old cached version.

2. Make sure the domain is assigned

  1. Open Settings › Domains.
  2. Check the domain shows as connected and verified.
  3. Click Manage and look at Connected Products: the right funnel or website must be listed.
  4. If you see Action Required, click it and choose the Default Page and the Default 404/Error Page.
  5. Save.

3. Review the DNS records at your provider

  1. Sign in to your domain provider's dashboard.
  2. Check the record shown by Elooo CRM on the domain connection screen exists (type, name and value exactly the same).
  3. For the same name (e.g. www), keep either an A record or a CNAME, never both.
  4. Delete old records that point that same name to another service.
  5. If you have a CAA record, make sure it doesn't block the SSL certificate; if it does, adjust or remove it.
  6. On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (gray cloud), not proxied.

4. Check propagation and SSL

  1. Use a public DNS lookup tool (for example MXToolbox) and look up your domain.
  2. Check the record shows the expected value. If it doesn't, wait: it can take up to 24 hours.
  3. Once the domain is assigned, the SSL certificate is created automatically, usually within a few minutes.
  4. Open the site again with https:// at the start.

Tips

  • If your main domain already runs another site that must stay live, don't repoint it: use a subdomain (e.g. book.myclinic.com).
  • One address can only point to one service at a time. Don't try to use the same name with two providers.

Common problems

  • SSL stays pending for hours → It's almost always Cloudflare proxy turned on, a CAA record blocking the certificate, or conflicting A and CNAME records. Fix it at your provider and wait a few minutes.
  • The domain opens a 404 error page → There's no default page, or the path typed doesn't exist. Set the Default Page in Settings › Domains › Manage and check the page path.
  • The domain opens my old website → A record still points to the old service, or propagation isn't finished. Delete the old record and wait up to 24 hours.
  • The address has random numbers at the end → Another page on the same domain uses the same path. Change the page path to a unique one.
  • It loads on my computer but not on my phone (or vice versa) → That's DNS propagation or caching. Test on mobile data and in a private window, and wait.

Frequently asked questions

How long until it works?

SSL is usually ready within a few minutes of assigning the domain. DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate.

Do I need to buy an SSL certificate?

No. The certificate is created automatically once the domain is connected and assigned.
