Numbers and voicemail

How to port the number you already have into Elooo CRM

Gather a recent bill from your current carrier, the account number, the PIN (for wireless numbers) and the authorized representative's details, then send the port-in request to Elooo CRM support. You'll receive a Letter of Authorization to sign; keep the number active with the old carrier until the port completes.

Updated on

Before you start

  • Have ready:
    • the account number with your current carrier;
    • the numbers to port (landline and wireless separately); for wireless numbers, the port-out PIN or whatever the carrier requires;
    • the latest bill from the carrier as a PDF or image (up to 10 MB), showing the number, account holder and carrier;
    • the name and email of the authorized representative (whoever signs for the business);
    • the full service address, exactly as the carrier has it (no PO boxes).
  • Name and address must match the carrier's records letter for letter; that's the number one cause of rejections.
  • Don't cancel service with your current carrier: the number must stay active until the port is complete.
  • If you'd rather keep using your current number without porting it, see verified caller ID (related article).
Where to find it

Elooo CRM support chat › number port-in request (support submits the request and tracks it under Settings › Phone System › Phone Numbers › Port-In Numbers)

Step by step

Send the request

  1. Open the Elooo CRM support chat and say you want to port a number into your account.
  2. Give the account name, the number's country and whether they're landline, wireless or toll-free numbers.
  3. Send the details from the list above: account number, numbers to port, PIN (if applicable), authorized representative, address and bill.
  4. Say whether the request is in the name of a business or an individual.
  5. Support submits the request and sends you back the request ID; keep it.

Sign the authorization and track progress

  1. The authorized representative receives a Letter of Authorization (LOA) by email, generated from the request details.
  2. Sign it digitally. Without the signature, the request doesn't move forward.
  3. Track the status with support: under carrier review, approved, completed or rejected.
  4. For fewer than 50 numbers, porting usually takes 2 to 4 weeks after the paperwork is submitted; larger requests can take 6 to 8 weeks. Carriers don't guarantee an exact date.

After it completes

  1. Confirm the number appears under Settings › Phone System › Phone Numbers.
  2. Place one inbound and one outbound test call.
  3. Set up forwarding, voicemail and who answers (see the inbound calls article).
  4. For a US number you want to text from, complete A2P registration (local) or toll-free verification before sending messages.
  5. Only then cancel service with the old carrier.

Tips

  • International numbers (outside the US) follow a manual process: Elooo CRM support will ask you for the country-specific paperwork.
  • Porting moves the number, not the history: export SMS conversations from your old provider if you need them.
  • Several landline numbers can go in one request; check with the carrier whether each wireless number has its own PIN.

Common problems

  • Rejected because the address or name doesn't match → The details must match the carrier's records. Confirm the exact address and name with the carrier and submit a new request (a rejected request can't be edited).
  • Rejected for an invalid PIN → Ask your current carrier for the correct port-out PIN. A wrong or made-up PIN gets the request rejected.
  • Rejected because the Letter of Authorization wasn't signed → The representative didn't sign the email they received. Check the email address is theirs and that the message didn't land in spam.
  • Rejected because the carrier account is suspended → Bring the carrier account current and request again.
  • The bill wasn't accepted → It must be recent, legible, and show the number, account holder and carrier. If you don't have a bill, a receipt or a screenshot of the carrier portal with those details may be accepted.

Frequently asked questions

Does the number lose service during porting?

No. It keeps working with the current carrier until the moment of transfer; there may be a brief impact during the switch window.

Can I choose the day and time of the transfer?

It's not guaranteed. Support notes your preference, but the final date is set by the carrier.
