How to create a workflow by describing it to the AI
Go to Automation › Workflows, click Build using AI, describe in plain language what you want ("when someone fills out the form, send a welcome email and notify the team") and click Build Workflow. Review the result in the builder, ask for tweaks in the AI chat and publish.

Before you start
- First write down, in one sentence, what you want: what starts the workflow (trigger), what should happen and in which order, plus details like wait times, the workflow name and sending hours.
- The more specific the prompt, the better the result. Example: "When someone submits the Quote form, send a welcome email, wait 1 day and send an SMS asking if they have questions."
Where to find it
Automation › Workflows › Build using AI
Step by step
Create the workflow
- Open Automation › Workflows and click Build using AI. (Alternatively, create a workflow from scratch and use the AI prompt box shown in the builder, or the AI chat assistant inside the builder.)
- Type the prompt in your own words, or pick one of the suggested prompt templates. You can also dictate it by voice.
- If you like, include the workflow name and settings (e.g. "don't allow re-entry", "only send Monday to Friday 9 AM–6 PM", "stop on response").
- Click Build Workflow and wait; the AI shows its progress step by step.
- The workflow opens in the builder with a summary of what was created. Review the trigger, each action and the settings.
Refine with the AI
- In the AI chat inside the builder, describe the change and its scope: "change the wait to 48 hours", "add a 'website-lead' tag after the email", "change the sender of all emails to hello@mybusiness.com".
- The AI changes only the steps you named; everything else stays the same. You can ask for several changes in one sentence.
- To undo an AI change, press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac); to redo, Ctrl+Y (Cmd+Y).
- When you're happy with it, click Publish.
Tips
- Always state the scope of a change: "in all email actions", "only in the second SMS". Without it, the AI may change more (or less) than you intended.
- The AI can edit If/Else and Wait steps (conditions, branches, duration) and link data between steps (e.g. "use the AI output in the email body").
- If you ask for help instead of changes ("how does Wait work?"), the AI answers without touching the workflow.
- Open and check every action before publishing: the AI builds the structure, but the message texts and the fields chosen are your responsibility.
Common problems
- The AI takes too long or doesn't finish → Simplify the prompt (fewer steps at once) and try again. Then add the rest in parts.
- The workflow it built isn't what I asked for → The prompt was vague. Describe the trigger, the actions in order and the timings. Ask for corrections in the chat instead of starting over.
- The AI changed actions I didn't want changed → Press Ctrl+Z to undo and repeat the request stating the exact scope.
- I asked to start over and lost what I had → When you ask for a new workflow on a canvas that already has content, the AI asks for confirmation. Use version history to recover the previous one.
